Juvederm Ultra 4 is a dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid that is an injectable implant used for filling any deep depressions of the skin via deep dermis injection, as well as for lip enhancement and cheekbone augmentation. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, mainly around the lips and nose.

How long does Juvederm Ultra 4 last?

Juvederm Ultra lasts about 4-6 months. However, we are all individuals and I have seen patients occasionally where it only lasts 3 and others where it might last a year – but these individuals are the exception, not the rule.

How does Juvederm Ultra 4 work?

Juvederm Ultra 4 is injected into the skin to add volume to, refine or contour the treatment area and smooth out wrinkles. It is indicated for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds.

The most common side effects are due to the injection process. These typically resolve on their own and include the following:

• • Slight redness
  • Swelling
  • Inflammation
  • Bruising

To ensure that these side effects do not occur, do not inject this filler if you are not an injector. If you are an injector, always follow the use instructions on the product pamphlet. It is also important to review the patient’s medical history to ensure the treatment is suitable for them and to avoid potential rare side effects, which include the following:

• Granuloma
• Allergic reaction
